If you want to impress new patients and demonstrate your customer service ethos, then create a menu of items designed to reduce patient’s anxiety. During the new patient call, advise patients that they can choose any item(s) from the menu at no charge. By putting these choices on a beautifully designed “menu,” you elevate the patient experience. Note that patients can also choose their communication preferences!
Here’s a sample of items to put on your menu:
- Branded Lip balm
- Aromatherapy scents
- Soft blanket
- Warm towels
- Neck pillow
- Headphones or ear plugs
- VR head sets
- TV and music preference
- Stress balls
- Hand cream
- Drinks cabinet: yogurt drinks, water, sparkling water, ginger ale
- Branded water bottles
- Disposable sunglasses or eye masks
- Reader eyeglasses (to see forms)
- Conversation preferences (detail-oriented, vs big-picture. Chatty vs quiet provider)
